2018 Competition Overview

Location: Georgia Tech Student Center

The 2018 competition will include elementary, middle, and high school students.  The winners of each division will be eligible to compete at the first annual National Invention Convention in Washington, DC.


Student Projects will be judged by industry experts and Georgia Tech community members.  Judging will take place electronically.  Judges will rate the projects in terms of :

  1. Practicality
  2. Knowledge Base
  3. Design-based Thinking
  4. Creativity
  5. Marketability
  6. Social Responsibility
  7. Enthusiasm & Communication
  8. Manufacturing

State Finals Schedule

11:00 - 11:30 am: Team arrival at Georgia Tech

11:30 am - 1:00 pm: Team check-in, registration, and lunch (provided) 

1:00 - 2:00 pm: Closed Door Judging!

2:00 - 2:45: Co-current Judging and Public Viewing

2:45 - 3:30:  All-InVenture Group Photo

3:30 - 3:45 pm: Keynote Speaker: Jasmine Burton

3:45-4:15 pm: Awards Ceremony 

6:30: Doors Open for K-12 InVenture students to the Georgia Tech InVenture Prize Competition (Ferst Center for the Arts)
